Roger Federer is easily the greatest tennis player in the history of tennis, according to sports critics, tennis fans as well as other viewers. This year, it came as a rude shock when he lost to Rafael Nadal in the Wimbledon finals. Although he fought off two match points, he still could not save himself from a humiliating loss.
Humiliating because he is a better player on grass when compared to Nadal. The loss also saw Federer losing the championship record. If he had won, he would have been the first player in the world to win six Wimbledon titles in a row. His fans wept and prayed to all the gods to allow him a generous win, but all the prayers were left unanswered.
The greatest aspect of Federer is that he is willing to take his chances again next year, and begin to set a record in tennis. He is young, and has plenty of time to get what he wants in the game. He is also looking forward to playing great games in the 2008 Olympics to be held in Beijing. Blame it on the gods, because this tennis God is yet to win a Grand Slam on the clay court.
